Southern California Siamese Cat Rescue
|
Many people don’t realize that there are “breed rescues” for different breeds of cats. I volunteer with So.CA. Siamese Rescue (SoCSR) . Our website is www.siameserescue.org. Although several groups around the U.S. share the same website, each of the groups is run independently. My friend, Lynda, is falling on the floor laughing (which is pretty incredible since she’s English and a bit reserved) because I’m now so involved with Siamese cats.

Happiness is a warm Siamese. |
When Lynda got her first Siamese I told her she was crazy because Siamese were terrible cats. I saw Lady and the Tramp, so I knew what those weird looking cats were like. Well, that was a few years ago and I’ve since become hooked. Forget what you may think about Siamese. They’re loving and talkative and inquisitive and make great companions.
There are two primary types: “apple heads”, which look like regular cats and “wedgies" which are the ones that many people think look like space aliens. I’m partial to the "wedgie" type, myself, but different people have different tastes. You may have heard about “points” on Siamese cats (blue-point, seal-point, etc.) "For more information re: colors and points, go to www.meezer.com. By the way, before you get ANY breed of cat, do your homework and find out what the personality and characteristics are so that you know it’s a good match for you and your life-style.
Katie and her big mouthed sister, Kelsie are asking you for HELP!!!
I want to put a plug in here for every animal rescue organization in the world. They need you! Please donate your time if you can. Become a foster home if you have the conditions to be able to isolate a foster for a period of time. In addition, please make at least occasional monetary contributions. Even if you can only afford to donate a dollar, remember that those dollars add up.

For a donation of $20 or more, you can have a beautiful SoCSR card sent for any occasion (birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, addition of new pet, or death of pet, just to name a few). Each card has a picture of one of the cats rescued from death by SoCSR and we will write whatever message you'd like and send it out to let the person know that a donation has been made in their name.
